Life Together #Oxford:
Exploring Monastic Life and Spirituality

Be yourself. Be curious. Be together.

Curious about what it means to live the religious life in community?
Monks and nuns are coming to a college near you.

Meet a monk or nun at breakfast, lunch or tea.
Join in monastic worship; bring questions.
Enjoy free food; engage in lunchtime discussion.

WHERE?

Morning prayer and breakfast at the University Church of St Mary the Virgin, with further events and worship across Oxford colleges each day.

WHEN?

10-14 February 2019 (5th Week of Hilary Term)

LifeTogether #Oxford is your chance to tap into a hidden and life-changing resource. Deep inner peace has been the goal of religious communities for centuries, and still is today. Groups of men and women live and pray together, holding open a space of radical stillness in the world.

This week, you can discover:

Why monks and nuns choose this counter-cultural way of life
What they do all day in their monasteries, convents or communities
How their communities of prayer transform them and the world around them.

Join in with the programme of prayer, conversation and food, taking place all across Oxford, from dawn till dusk, Monday to Thursday.

Each day is themed, to chime with an aspect of religious life.
Monday 10 February: Community and Belonging
Tuesday 11 February: Worship
Wednesday 12 February: Being Human
Thursday 13 February: Justice and Reconciliation

Everyone is welcome. See you there!
